Project Coordinator – REWARDS

Purpose of the Job:

 

The Project Coordinator will support the effective day ‑ to ‑ day implementation of the REWARDS Project, ensuring timely execution of planned activities, coordination with implementing partners, and accurate documentation. 

 

Key Duties and Responsibilities 

 

  • Coordinate day ‑ to ‑ day implementation of REWARDS project activities in line with approved work plans and budgets.

  • Support the preparation and tracking of activity plans, schedules, and implementation milestones.

  • Coordinate logistics, meetings, and communications with implementing partners, training institutions, and industry stakeholders.

  • Maintain comprehensive project documentation, records, and activity reports in accordance with TEVETA and GIZ requirements.

  • Support preparation of technical progress reports and inputs for donor reporting under the guidance of the Senior Specialist.

  • Coordinate implementation ‑ level monitoring activities and support data collection for M&E reporting.

  • Support financial and procurement processes by working closely with the Finance and Procurement Assistants to ensure timely submission of documentation.

  • Support integration of cross ‑ cutting issues, including gender equality and Environmental and Social Safeguards (ESS), in project activities.

  • Perform any other project ‑ related duties as assigned by the Head of Projects Management or the Senior Specialist

 

Minimum Academic and Professional Qualifications 

The Project Coordinator shall have:

  • At least a Bachelor’s degree in Project Management, Development Studies, Economics, Education, Renewable Energy, or a related field from a recognized institution.

  • At least 5 years’ relevant work experience in project coordination or management, preferably within donor ‑ funded development programmes.

  • Demonstrated experience working with government institutions, development partners, and private sector stakeholders.

  • Proven ability to coordinate multi ‑ stakeholder projects, including planning, implementation, reporting, and monitoring.

  • Sound knowledge of TVET systems, skills development, or employment promotion programmes is an added advantage.

  • Strong understanding of results ‑ based management, work planning, and reporting.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.

  • Proven ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

 

Duration of the Assignment

The contract for Project Coordinator shall be for a period of two years, renewable subject to satisfactory annual performance reviews and availability of funding. Remuneration ranges around MWK4,000,000 (gross salary before deductions) and shall be negotiable based on candidate’s qualifications and experience.
