One way of enhancing conduct of quality assessments and certification in TEVET is through External Verification in the provision of both formal and informal apprenticeships.
Roles and functions of External Verifiers
• Verifying CBET assessment to ensure quality and consistence
• Supporting and advising centers on improving the effectiveness and quality of assessment
• Maintaining accurate records of the results of external verification.
• Monitoring assessment practice to ensure the assessment is done according to awarding body criteria
• Verifying the assessment decision by sampling to check consistence
• Maintaining accurate records of planned and completed internal verification
• Advising and supporting assessors on conduct of quality assessments
