TEVETA-MUST SIGN MoU

The Technical, Entrepreneurial and Vocational Education and Training Authority (TEVETA) and the Malawi University of Science and Technology (MUST) recently signed a Memorandum Of Understanding (MoU) to  collaborate in identifying, developing and growing innovations. The new deal will also see the two institutions joining hands in building the capacity of technical tutors and implementing projects that will propel the development of skilled workforce for the nation o achieve Malawi 2063.


Speaking when he signed the MOU in Lilongwe, TEVETA Executive Director Elwin Chiwembu Sichiola said the agreement represents a shared goal. 

“We are two individual institutions, but we have a shared vision which will ensure that as the world is advancing technologically, Malawi has a skilled and innovative workforce to match this advancement. This programme with MUST will among others help the TEVET system identity and develop innovations,” he said. 

Sichiola said the agreement will help technical teachers upgrade their capacity to competently train the youth.

MUST Vice Chancellor, Professor Address Malata, said this milestone is key to providing the right skills for human capital development and enabling entrepreneurship and wealth creation in the country. 

The MoU signing ceremony was graced by TEVETA Board Member Hyacinth Chikaonda and MUST Board Member Ruth Masangano.
