A Word from the Executive Director

TEVETA Executive Director Mr Yusuf Alide Welcome to the Technical, Entrepreneurial and Vocational Education and Training Authority (TEVETA) website.

The TEVET system continues to provide education and training to skilled workers and professionals including vocational teachers for socioeconomic development of Malawi.  The system takes into account the fact  that development of Malawi's human resource base is a shared responsibility.

This, therefore, calls for  the need  for public private partnership which would lead to a win-win situation among partners.

As you are aware, the policy defines the intent of government and stakeholders for the TEVET system, the TEVET Act gives life and breath to the policy while the Strategic Plan presents the roadmap that TEVETA needs to follow in implementing stakeholders wish in order to realise what is needed.

It is, therefore, the duty of TEVETA  to monitor the heartbeat of the TEVET system  so that  all programmes being implemented meet aspirations of Malawians. The  TEVET system thrives on seven values which are Comprehensivenss, Demand-dirven approach to skills development; Partcipation and Partnership; Competency-Based Approach and Modular system to Skills Development; Transparency and Accountability and Equity and Cost Effectiveness.

Finally, it is my hope that this website will provide a forum through which TEVETA can share with you various developments in the TEVET system. As such your feedback on our programmes and various areas of interventions will be highly appreciated.
